Assembly

Assembly and care Instructions

 1. Be smart. Be sure your firearm is unloaded. Remove the magazine. Lock the bolt open.

2.  Factory rear sight. If you are going to use the barrel fins with your new stock, now is a good time to remove the rear sight from the barrel. This can be done by using a soft metal punch or hard wood dowel and hammer. As you look down the barrel, place the punch on the left side of the sight base and tap firmly to move the sight from its dovetail groove.

Some sights may have a set screw holding them in place. Loosen the set screw and slide the sight out.

 3.  Remove your 10/22 from its stock by removing the barrel band and take down screw. Push the safety so it protrudes equally from either side of the trigger housing. Lift the barrel and receiver from the stock.

 4. Remove the front receiver cross pin.

 5. Slide the 10/22 receiver into the chassis. Insert the 10-24 x 1 5/8” hex bolt through the chassis and receiver using an Allen wrench. Thread on the nylon nut. Do not over tighten or the receiver may be compressed interfering with the free movement of the bolt.

 6. Attach the trigger grip using the 1/4-20 x 3 ¾” hex bolt. Do not over tighten which could damage grip or chassis.

 7. Attach the front grip.

Horizontal grip: No need to remove the rear sight with this grip. Attach using the 12-24 x ½” hex bolt. Some grips may need slight shimming material (~1/16”) placed behind the take down bolt hole. This helps bring the front of the grip in close proximity to the barrel.

If the rifle is going the be used heavily with a sling, using the horizontal grip made for the barrel band is strongly recommended. Without the barrel band, leverage of the sling could cause the grip to break in some cases.

Vertical grip: The rear sight will need to be removed before barrel fins can be attached. If using the fins begin by putting them on over the barrel. Attach the grip support using the 12-24 x ½” bolt. The fins should be situated between the supports barrel band and receiver. Slide the grip onto the support. Remove by squeezing the latch barbs together while sliding the grip forward.

8. Slide on the front sight over the factory sight and secure by tightening the set screw. Do not over tighten the set screw which could damage the threads.

 9. Attach the buttstock by aligning the slots on the stock and chassis. Slide the stock forward until it locks. Remove by depressing the button while pulling rearward.

 10. Attach the stick magazine by applying hot glue to the bottom of the Ruger clip. Be sure the rounded front of the magazine is oriented to the front of the Ruger clip.

 11. Sight windage and elevation adjustments are done by loosening and then tightening the set screws enough to hold in position. Do not over tighten! Over tightening could damage threads and sight components.

 12. Enjoy!

 Care and Maintenance

The chassis system is made of nylon and other polymers. The buttstock and grips should not be exposed to acetone based cleaning solvent for extended periods which can cause softening and damage of the surfaces. Parts can be cleaned with warm water and soap.
